Story 263

The Utmost Party

Once on Maine's northernmost seacoast, we were invited by a most gracious host, to a party that was truly the uttermost.

Modest George Yost, would not in the least boast, but his yard would, with a lantern atop each post. We were served caviar on toast, and the tastiest roast. Every guest proposed a toast, which was laughed down with a witty riposte.

The next day this foremost party was ballyhooed in The New York Times, and The Washington Post.

Pro Tip: Not sure about a phrase? Try highlighting "witty riposte" and ask Copilot: "What does this mean in the context of a party?"
